KICK-ASS Returns

Ah time for the "phase 2" of the KICK-ASS effect. Today this fine feature film makes it's debut to a larger market being released on DVD, Blu Ray, Cable, Super 8, Beta max, Stereoscopy, and some crude drawings under the 17th street bridge.

Being that this movie is rated R it did not get stellar box office results. I can see parents being hesitant forking over movie theater prices on unknown subject matter. The home movie watching experience is a little more lax as being in ones own "comfort zone" makes people especially younger individuals more at ease.

The results of the theatrical release of this film had around 80+ new accounts show up on the various online media RLSH outlets. I expect to see this number to increase substantially now with larger exposure to it's intended audience.

Of note, having already seen this film in the theater I was puzzled on why the RLSH.org chose to endorse this movie. As I said before this movie has nothing to do with them except for silly costumes and Myspace....but I guess any coverage is good coverage.

  1. Poop Knife,

"To Shill, or not to shill"

To be or not to be– that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep
No more – and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep
To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th’ oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of disprized love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country from whose bourn
No traveler returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.—Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
    Be all my sins remembered.

  2. I'm fairly alarmed at the number of new recruits. I mean, I said over and over again that I knew this was going to happen, but even I wasn't expecting these kinds of numbers.

It's enough to make a guy dust off his skull and trenchcoat.

  3. Expect more to come and in all likeliness more problems to ensue, expecially since they lack any real form of check-up system, hell I have created 3 accounts and I wonder if they have discovered them yet. They have no real way of knowing one way or another, and it is just sad for them since they cannot even keep a steady or legitimate eye on those they bring in.

  4. I notice since Tothian was banned, there have been no less than three accounts created that have "wolf" in the name.

    Subtlety: Tothian's superpower.

  5. RLSH.org hadn't gone out of their way to promote the movie, that's a common misconception. Lionsgate Entertainment had come to them and proposed advertising on their site for a modest sum (just enough to keep the lights on for a few months really). The Admin thought it would be a good thing to bring in some traffic and perhaps get the site's existence out there a little more.

After the announcement of the deal to the forum, all heck broke loose. But it was generally believed that the staff could keep the inlfux of newbies in check and educate the general public as to what RLSH really were (as opposed to what they were not.. like in the movie for instance).

Creating an account on the forum is not a big deal. Membership does not make one "a recruit" by any means. All it means is that you can post on the forum. We, the staff, have been keeping a close eye on the newbies. We've been having troll troubles for weeks now and have even taken a more aggressive approach to banning trouble makers.

As long as someone isn't being a cheeky monkey, they generally don't have to fear the hammer. But we are vigilant, and we are watching.

  6. Good job Silver Sentinel as always. Hence the reason I have mad respect for you. I'm sure the troll problems would be better controlled if people would follow the rules of the forum, such as the following:

"Multiple user names with the same IP address will not be tolerated and IP addresses associated with socket accounts will be banned."

Such a shame. What's really sad is that some people have nothing better to do with their lives than create multiple accounts on a forum that they have such antipathy for.

  7. said accounts are no longer used, but it was a matter of point in security, there is none, I didn't act like a typical troll so how would they know, which is my point, until you meet them you never know. And Jingles, get off your high horse, the inflated egotism is pathetic coming from someone who claims to do good, but then bashes others, that is just like bible thumpers and political activists and RLSH, bash others for what they dont do instead of preaching what to do and how to do it. Great examples right there.

  9. I was going to respond to you a certain way Virus but I'm not going to go there. I'll leave the hate mongering to you and the rest of the RLSVs. I have no interest in wasting any further time with you.
